The Philippine Embassy in Belgium confirmed that there were no Filipinos among the three casualties in the Liege, Belgium attack.
Based on the report of Philippine Ambassador to Belgium, Eduardo Jose de Vega, a man with a knife attacked and killed two policewomen. He then seized the police handgun and used it to shoot a man sitting in a parked car. He was holding a woman hostage before police fatally shot him.
Authorities are considering the incident as a terrorist attack. The country offered its sympathy to the victims’ families.
An estimated 8,000 Filipinos are living in Belgium and about a hundred of them are in Liege. — UNTV News & Rescue
