Department of Labor Undersecretary Jacinto Paras
PASAY CITY, Philippines – Department of Labor Undersecretary Jacinto Paras filed grave threat charges against Senator Antonio Trillanes IV at the Pasay City Prosecutors Office.
The complaint stems from Paras’ unpleasant encounter with Trillanes at the Senate session hall on May 29 where Trillanes allegedly confronted Paras.
“Bigla na lang po niya akong nilapitan noong magkatabi kami ni Secretary Duque. Nakatayo po kami doon sa VIP gallery. Unprovoked at tine-threaten niya po ko at sinabi niya na yayariin niya po ako,” Paras claimed.
Paras believes that Trillanes’ aversion to him is due to the inciting to sedition case he filed against the senator.
Paras requested a subpoena for the CCTV footage of the Senate capturing the incident.
For his part, Trillanes said he is ready to face the complaint saying there is no truth to Paras’ claims. — Nel Maribojoc
