PDEA distributes additional equipment for its anti-drug ops

PDEA’s brand new motorcycle units to boost its anti-drug operations

 

QUEZON CITY, Philippines – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Thursday, June 21, issued equipment to its ground units in support of its operations against illegal drugs.

Additional vehicles, computer units, and forensic equipment were distributed by the agency on Friday, June 21, all amounting to more than P189-million.

PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino said they are on the process of strengthening their operational capabilities to further accomplish their task to curb illegal drugs trade in the country, as directed by President Rodrigo Duterte.

Overall, PDEA distributed 135 computer units (P8.3M); 43 units of Toyota Hi-Ace (P61.8M); 20 units of Toyota Vios (P17.3M); and 151 units of motorcycles (P11.9M) along with digital testing devices (P89.8M).

The agency recently distributed firearms, surveillance and office equipment as well as protective gears to PDEA’s regional units prior to the new set of service equipment. – Cathy Maglalang / Marje Pelayo
