QUEZON CITY, Philippines – Weather Bureau PAGASA is monitoring a low-pressure area (LPA) within the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) at a distance of 190 kilometers west of Clark, Pampanga.

The trough of the LPA is currently affecting Mindoro and Palawan where light to moderate rains are being experienced and is likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon are expected to experience occasional thunderstorms and heavy rains that could cause flooding and landslides.

PAGASA said the LPA is less likely to develop into a tropical cyclone and may dissolve in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the weather bureau is also monitoring another LPA located east of Luzon, expected to enter PAR Wednesday night. – Rey Pelayo / Marje Pelayo
