QUEZON CITY, Philippines – The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has begun its clearing operations in major roads in Quezon City in preparation for the State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Rodrigo Duterte on July 23.
The MMDA targets to clear the routes leading to the venue in Batasan Complex particularly the stretch of Commonwealth Avenue and IBP Road in Batasan Hills.
MMDA personnel arrested motorists responsible for illegal parking, hitching and offenders of the tricycle ban on national road and the no helmet policy.
Agency personnel also assured that sidewalk vendors in Commonwealth market do not cause road obstructions. Commonwealth Avenue is among the areas MMDA regularly checks to ensure order and light flow of traffic. – Asher Cadapan Jr. / Marje Pelayo
