
Retrieval operations for the bodies of landslide victims in Benguet
BENGUET, Philippines – The number of missing persons in the Cordillera Autonomous Region (CAR) has risen to 49 as of 6:00 a.m. on Monday (September 17) as a result of the onslaught of Typhoon Ompong.
Authorities resumed the retrieval operation in Barangay Ucab in Itogon after it was temporarily suspended on Sunday.
Based on the latest report from the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) Cordillera, the number of people still missing in the area rose to 49, from 42 on Sunday.
