MANILA, Philippines – Senator Antonio Trillanes IV claims he is being watched after a suspicious white van was seen near his house on the evening of September 11.
The senator said it was unusual to see the said van circling their house twice based on the recorded video on CCTV.
In another CCTV footage, the driver was seen lowering the car window, looking at the senator’s house.
According to Senator Trillanes, he has asked for an investigation on the said vehicle as they already identified the owner of the vehicle through its plate number.
He insists that it was a clear form of harassment against him and his family.
“Noong sinita ng mga nagbabantay doon sa bahay namin ay kumaripas ng takbo. Tapos noong nakita ang CCTV footage noong pagpasok, hindi siya nagbigay ng identification. Hindi niya ibinigay ang lisensya niya. Dumaan siya sa lane na bumukas. Iyong behavior niya talagang highly suspicious,” Trillanes said.
But Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque claimed Trillanes is having paranoia.
“First it’s drama, now it appears as paranoia. I think it’s very clear the president has left the matter to the RTC of Makati and so as the Supreme Court,” said Roque.
Meanwhile, Trillanes said he is ready to fly to Davao City to face the libel charges filed against him by former Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte despite the risks of getting arrested after President Rodrigo Duterte declared his amnesty void.
“I’ll cross the bridge when we get there kung kailangang pumunta dun pupunta ako dun” the senator said.
Currently, Trillanes and his legal team are preparing for the measure to counter the libel case that the senator is facing. – Marje Pelayo (with reports from Joan Nano)
