
72-year-old Jang Wen-Jung is accused of dealing high volume drugs and financing a shabu and ecstasy laboratory in Taiwan.
MANILA, Philippines — The 72-year-old Taiwanese national, Jang Wen-Jung had no choice but to yield to authorities after he tested positive for illegal drug use in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 4A at Alabang Town Center Monday, October 1.
PDEA seized three kilos of suspected shabu from Jang with a street value of over P20 million.
“Mga grupo ito ng sindikato na karamihan sa kanila ay nag dedeal ng high volume drugs. Isa ito sa mga projects ng PDEA Region 4A na naging successful po tayo,” said PDEA 4A Regional Director Adrian Alvarino.

The three kilos of suspected shabu with a street value of over P20 million seized from the suspect.
He added that Jang has a pending case at the Kaoshiung Prosecutors Office since January for financing a shabu and ecstasy laboratory in Taiwan.
The suspect is also allegedly involved in the manufacture of illegal drugs called flunitrazepam or more popularly known as date rape drug.
Jang, who took up residence in Malate, Manila, has been hiding in the country for over a year. — Sherwin Culubong
