The Department of Education (Deped) will implement shifting of classes since there are not enough classrooms to accommodate all the students.
Over 1,000 classrooms are still under construction, according to Deped 7 Information Officer Amaryllis Villarmia. She said the current classrooms won’t be able to accommodate over 2 million students in the region.
“Some of the classrooms are completed, some are ongoing, some are still about to be procured. It’s an activity all throughout the year, all throughout the school year,” Villarmia said.
Deped 7 is also expecting an increase in the number of enrollees for this year.
“We are expected to increase probably 2% more or more or less, same,” Villarmia said.
