NEW YORK CITY, USA — Muling ipinagdiwang ang pinakamalaking Philippine Independence Day Parade sa Manhattan, New York City.
Libu-libong Pilipino mula sa iba’t-ibang estado ng Amerika ang dumayo upang sumuporta at makita ang mga Pinoy pride gaya nina Olympic Figure Skater Michael Christian Martinez at 2013 Miss World Meagan Young at iba pa.
“The Philippine Independence Day Parade here in New York is getting bigger and bigger every year,” saad ni Consul General Marion De Leon.
Bakas ang Filipino pride sa naturang parada hindi lamang sa mukha ng ating mga kababayang Fil-Am kundi pati na rin sa mga pambato ng bansa.
“We’re just about anywhere in the world and what’s nice about is that you always have that family feel with everyone, it’s almost like we will always take care of each other and for me I take that to heart and thats something I’m very proud of,” pahayag ni WBO Light Featherweight Champion Ana Julaton.
“It’s good to let everyone know around the world that Pinoys can do what anyone else can do, you know what I mean so it’s great,” saad naman ni Fil-Am Race Driver Michelle Marie Bumgarner.
Ang New York Philippine Independence Day parade ay ginaganap taon-taon sa sentro ng New York City bilang simbolo ng malaking kontribusyon ng ating mga Filipino-American sa ekonomiya at kultura ng lungsod.
