A magnitude 5.7 earthquake hit the town of Looc, Occidental Mindoro on Monday at 1:12 in the morning.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake was tectonic in origin, which means there was a movement in the Earth’s crust, and that it had a depth of 74 kilometers.
The tremor recorded Intensity V in Tagaytay City and Amadeo in Cavite.
Intensity IV was felt in Malolos City and Obando in Bulacan; San Mateo, Rizal; General Trias and Tanza in Cavite; City of Manila, Marikina City, San Juan City, and Las Pinas City in Metro Manila.
Intensity III was recorded in City of Antipolo in Rizal; Quezon City, Pasig City, Makati City, and Valenzuela City.
Intensity II, on the other hand, was felt in Palayan City, Nueva Ecija.
