MANILA, Philippines — Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte continues to lead in the 2022 vice presidential race, according to the results of the latest Pulse Asia survey released on Wednesday.
In the survey, 56 percent of the respondents said they would vote for Duterte if the elections were held during the survey period from March 17 to 21, 2022.
Senate President Vicente Sotto III ranked second with 20 percent followed by Senator Kiko Pangilinan with 15 percent.
Dr. Willie Ong scored 5 percent followed by Congressman Lito Atienza with 1 percent.
Manny Lopez got 0.3 percent, Walden Bello with 0.1 percent while Carlos Serapio and Rizalito David both scored 0.01 percent.
Pulse Asia noted in its latest survey that public sentiment regarding preferences for vice-president is essentially constant between February 2022 and March 2022, adding that Duterte is the favored vice-presidential candidate of big pluralities to overwhelming majorities across geographic areas and socio-economic classes (44% to 83% and 55% to 63%, respectively).
The rest of likely voters are undecided on whom to elect as the next Philippine vice-president (2%), not voting for any candidate for the post (1%), or refuse to identify their choice for vice-president (0.4%), the pollster added.
The survey was conducted using face-to-face interviews with 2,400 respondents.
