Pagpapatuloy ng peace talks sa CPP-NPA-NDF, wala pang katiyakan ayon sa Malacañang

MANILA, Philippines – Hindi masisisi ng Malakanyang kung kondenahin ng Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process ang ginawang pag-atake ng rebeldeng New Peoples Army (NPA) sa Compostela Valley at Camarines Norte sa kabila ng month-long unilateral ceasefire na idineklara ng pamahalaan noong December 19, 2014.

Ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda, sa kasalukuyan ay wala pa namang nangyayaring pormal na usapang pangkapayapaan sa pagitan ng pamahalaan at rebeldeng grupo.

“We’re coming from a situation were there are no peace talks, so were status quo right now. I mean there are friends of the process back and forth to see if there are possibility of restarting the peace process.”

Sinabi rin ni Secretary Lacierda na hindi nila alam kung seryoso ang rebeldeng grupo sa negosasyong pangkapayapaan ng pamahalaan dahil sa ginawang pag-atake ng rebeldeng NPA noong Disyembre.

“And now Mr. (Jose Maria) Sison said that we’d like to have a one-one meeting with the President but were the talks yet, how are we… are they serious, are these all just media mileage for them, we’ve always stated that we are willing to discuss peace we rather peace than war,” anang kalihim.

Ngunit tiniyak ng Malakanyang na sa kabila ng nasabing usaping ay magpapatuloy ang pamahalaan sa pagpapatupad ng poverty intervention programs upang matulungan ang mga kababayan nating mahihirap kahit pa sa mga lugar na pinagkukutaan ng mga rebelde. (Nel Maribojoc / Ruth Navales, UNTV News)
