Pasadena, CA – Tinatayang aabot sa 50-libo katao ang sumaksi at nakisaya sa Tournament of Rose Parade na idinaos sa Pasadena, California kaalinsabay ng pagpasok ng taong 2015.

“It’s great to be here and see these whole thing, so to all Filipinos out there I wish you guys could see these it’s great upclose, all natural stuffs here it’s really great to see everything,” saad ni Joy Fortich.

Ang taunang Rose parade ay isang tradisyon ng mga taga-Southern California mula pa noong taong 1890.

Nilahukan ito ng halos 700-libong mamamayan mula sa iba’t ibang estado ng Amerika, pati na ng ibang bansa gaya ng Japan, Denmark, Hawaii at Mexico.

“There are 935 of us. We’re responsible for putting on the parade from the very beginning when the floats are being decorated. Actually it’s a year-around job but different people have different positions,” pahayag naman ni Robert Grambo, White Suiters Volunteer, Tournament of Roses Association.

Itinuturing rin ang Rose parade na “America’s biggest celebration of New Year”.

Itinanghal ng isang big car company ang 37 floats na gawa sa mga makukulay at iba’t ibang klase ng mga prutas at halaman, pangunahin ang bulaklak na rosas.

Hindi rin pahuhuli ang mga mahuhusay at magagarbong marching band at equestrian units.

“Parade is very nice, & it’s worth it, worth it to go,very nice, lots of flowers, you can see different kinds of flowers from everywhere,” nakangiting pahayag ng Filipino-American na si Shiela Sierra. (Christie Rosacia / Ruth Navales, UNTV News)
