MANILA, Philippines – Dinumog ng mga humahanga kay Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago ang ikalawang meet & greet ng sendora para sa libro nitong “Stupid is Forever”.
“Ignorance is curable, stupidity is eternal”, ito ang kauna-unahang linya na makikita sa librong isinulat ni Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago na may titulong “Stupid is Forever”.
Sa katunayan, record-breaker na ito ngayon sa dami ng mga bumili mula nang ilunsad noong Disyembre.
At bilang pasasalamat, nagkaroon kahapon ng meet and greet ang senadora sa mga tumangkilik ng kanyang libro, sa isang mall sa Makati City.
“First we did not realize that there were so many people interested in common simple humor, we had one book launch in Quezon City and we never factored into our plans another book launch and even a third book launch and then finally the launching of a completely separate second edition because that’s how big the demand as if you go on Facebook you’ll see that many of our balikbayan relatives and family in America want their relatives over here in Manila to send the book to them,” anang senadora.
Kapansin-pansin naman na halos lahat ng dumalo sa event ay pawang mga kabataan.
Ayon sa senadora, malaking bagay na ang mga kabataan ang tumatangkilik sa kanyang libro na siyang inaasahan na magdadala ng pagbabago sa pamahalaan.
“I always have hope for my fellow humans I think we always rise above the level of our mediocrity or our stupidity so we are in effect calling for and thru the voice of the young people who are buying and supporting this book we’ll trying to call the attention of the fact that we need to raise the level of political discourse.”
Sold out agad ang limangdaang pre-signed books na hinanda para sa nasabing event.
Ang mga mapapalad na nakabili ay nagkaroon ng tyansang makapagpa-picture sa senadora.
