MANILA, Philippines – The Aquino administration’s performance ratings on urgent national issues are almost unchanged. This, according to the recent Pulse Asia survey.
Survey result showed that most Filipinos are more concerned with economic issues, wage increase, and anti-corruption efforts.
According to the March 2015 Pulse Asia survey, more Filipinos, reaching 46%, are concerned with inflation control, 44% on wage increase and 40% of Filipinos concerned on anti-corruption.
Interests of Filipinos remain low on territorial issues, terrorism, and constitutional change.
Aquino administration approval ratings on national issues are almost unchanged when it comes to calamity response, environmental abuse, crime prevention, territorial defense, fight against corruption and implementation of the law.
On the other hand, the disapproval rating for peace got the highest increase from 21% to 29% year-on-year. This is due to the recent January 25 Mamasapano operation and the legislation of Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL).
With these results in the survey, President Aquino, nevertheless, maintained that his administration will focus in creating more job opportunities in the remaining months of his term.
“We will continue to channel funds to programs that have the twin effects of creating a skilled, talented, and healthy work force that can attract more investors, and more importantly, of allowing our people to retake control of their destinies,” President Aquino said. (Nel Maribojoc / UNTV News)
