MANILA, Philippines — Limited copies of Manny Pacquiao stamps have gone on sale in the country.
500,000 copies of the special edition regular stamps and 30,000 souvenir stamps were printed by the Philippine Postal Corporation.
Each regular stamp costs 10 pesos, while the souvenir stamps cost 40 pesos.
The Philippine Postal Corporation said most of the stamps were sold on the first two days since its initial release on Monday (April 20).
They plan on making the stamps available to order online for international collectors as well.
Luis Carlos, Assistant Postmaster for Marketing, said they wanted to immortalize Pacquiao and his historic fight.
“The stamp is basically bringing you history. It depicts the country, the history, the person, all of it, so this is something that maybe, not in our time. In the next 50 years, people would look at the stamps and look at it as a historical background on who was Pacquiao when he was in 2015 fighting this fight of the century.” (UNTV News)
