DAVAO CITY, Philippines — Hindi nagpatinag sa mga banta ng seguridad ang mga negosyante sa Mindanao sa pagbubukas ng ika-22 Mindanao Business Conference sa SMX Convention Center sa Davao City, Huwebes.
Mismong si Pangulong Beingno Aquino III ang nanguna sa opening ceremony kasama ang ilang miyembro ng gabinete at ibang opisyal ng pamahalaan.
Daan-daang mga delegado mula sa business sector na galing sa iba’t-ibang bahagi ng Mindanao ang nakiisa sa pagtitipon.
Sa talumpati ng pangulo, ipinagmalaki nito ang mga nagawa ng kaniyang administrasyon upang mapalago ang ekonomiya ng rehiyon.
“Now the MILF and the government have a frame work agreement on the Bangsamoro just last month both sides signed the second annex of the agreement and I am confident that more good news will arrive soon.”
Tiniyak din ng pangulo na papanagutin sa batas ang mga nasa likod ng magkakasunod na pagpapasabog sa Mindanao nitong mga nakaraang araw.
“To those willing to partner us for peace we welcome you as brothers, but to those who want to challenge the authority of the state you will feel the full brunt depth and might of the states response you will not get in the way of the peace and the stability that will help fulfill the potential of Mindanao,” mariing pahayag ng Pangulo.
Kasabay nito, ipinagmalaki rin ng Pangulo ang ginawang hakbang ng pamahalaan upang masolusyunan nararanasang rotating brownouts sa ilang bahagi ng Mindanao.
“Right now we are on track to end the energy deficit by 2015 during which we for see Mindanao to already have a surplus.”
