A vote counting machine in Abra West Central School started malfunctioning after being inserted with a wet ballot, according to a technician.

Spending almost one hour waiting for their turn, voters in precincts 0001A, 0002A and 0003A have not cast their votes yet.

As this moment, there will be no manual counting of ballots as the officials follow a standard operating procedure though voters are appealing for manual count instead of waiting for the VCM to be fixed.

According to Board of Elections Inspector, Manuel Borreta, they are still communicating with the municipal coordinator to personally assess the said situation. It will take him however an estimated 30 minutes to reach the precinct.

Voters are expected to flock to the polling precincts by afternoon because only half of the registered voters have so far cast their votes.
