SARANGANI, Philippines — Eight-time world boxing champion and Sarangani Representative Manny Pacquiao cast his vote in Kiamba Central Elementary School in Sarangani province on election day Monday.
The Filipino boxing icon is seeking a seat in the Senate. He is under the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) political party of Vice-President Jejomar Binay.
Pacquiao was joined by his wife, Jinkee and some relatives. He stayed inside the Precinct for almost 17 minutes, only.
According to UNTV News Correspondent Gil Salazar, after shading his ballot, Pacquiao reviewed it first before falling in line to insert it into the VCM.
Salazar reported that there was a delay before Pacquiao could cast his vote because they ran out of thermal paper for the VCM. This caused the delay in printing the voter’s receipt for Pacquiao.
After voting, the boxing icon gave a short statement and thanked all who supported him in his campaign period.
