CAGAYAN DE ORO, Philippines — Disappointed voters in Cagayan De Oro left polling centers and returned to their homes without casting their votes due to malfunctioning vote counting machines (VCMs). Their woes were aggravated by long wait time and hot temperature.
Lapasan Elementary School, Bugo Central School, Cammanan Elementary School, City Central School and Bulua Elementary School, all in Cagayan De Oro, experienced the reported voting machine problems.
According to Comelec in Cagayan De Oro, in the absence of VCM augmentation from the main COMELEC headquarters in Manila, they will allow voters to finish casting their votes in other precincts.
