QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Incoming Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief P/CSupt. Ronald Dela Rosa is aware that huge funding is needed for the Anti-Illegal Drugs Group (AIDG) to fully execute its campaign against illegal substances in the country.
Thus, he plans to increase the agency’s intelligence fund as soon as he assumes office.
“We will maximize to where it is needed the most. How can you achieve your target of three to six months if you would not maximize your resources to your men?” Dela Rosa said.
He plans to reshuffle all personnel from district to regional level of the anti-illegal drugs special operations task force or DAID and RAIDx.
“There should be changes among our men. I can’t memorize all of them. They are many. It’s up for their bosses to choose the most trusted among them,” he added.
The re-organization among operatives and officers will begin on July 1.
Gen. Bato assures to reward policemen who can capture or kill drug lords as promised by President-elect Rodrigo Duterte.
“If it is a work of a policeman, then reward goes to the police. The only concern is that police might not do their job without a reward. But of course, they have to do their job with or without money.”
Dela Rosa believes that even without the reward, policemen will still perform their job according to their mandate.
