Commuters going to their offices may now save more using UberPool.

Here, passengers can share in one taxi if they are going in one destination.

The fare is also 20% cheaper.

For those who want to use UberPool, you need to download Uber application.

After registration, just input your pick-up location and the destination. Then, the estimated fare will appear.

Based on Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) studies, 18 cars with 28 passengers are only equivalent to 10 Uber pool.

That is why LTFRB assures that this may lessen the volume of vehicles in the major roads.

“Instead of individual trips, it will be a car pools. So, instead of 10 cars ferrying 10 people, in can only be 5 cars. So, that’s the benefit of this. They’ve proven it; shown in the experience in other countries,” LTFRB chair Winston Ginez said.

In August 2014 Uber company launched their car pooling service.

Forty cities in different countries are currently using the system including New York, Mexico City, Washington D.C., Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai and the Philippines among others.

“This is one way to ease traffic congestion. They may try using this service according to their particular needs,” Ginez added.

For comments and suggestions, they may contact the office of LTFRB.
