QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Vice President-elect Leni Robredo wants to use the Quezon City Executive House as her office.

Aside from being just a minute away from her home in Quezon City, this house is cheaper compared to P500,000 monthly rental in Coconut Palace.

The 5000 square-meter Executive Office was built 3 years ago after the demolition of the controversial Boracay mansion which was allegedly owned by former president and now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada.

The two-storey building has six conference rooms, two receiving areas, one entertainment area, 4 bedrooms, a kitchen and a dining room.

The house is already clean but they have to do some light renovations before Robredo can move in.

“We have landscaping undergoing, road repair and land development. We haven’t finished it yet. It is not yet open for media. You should get the clearance from Quezon City [hall.],” said Engr. Rene Serad

QC Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte earlier said the local government will charge the Office of the Vice President P200,000 monthly rental.

Robredo has already visited the Executive Office several times.

The PSG also inspected the area for the security of the Vice President.

The memorandum of agreement to be signed by the local government unit and the OVP is now to be finalized.
