QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Families of the Special Action Force or SAF 44 were emotional as they went to the Office of the Ombudsman this morning to seek for justice for their slain loved ones.
The 44 counts of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homiside complaint was filed by Julie Danao, Felecitas Nacino and Celestino Kaingan against former president Benigno Aquino III, former PNP chief Alan Purisima and former SAF director Getulio Napeñas.
“We are seeking for justice for our child died in Mamasapano because it is unfair that until now there is no justice given to them,” said Julie Danao.
This is the second complaint filed against Aquino, Purisima and Napeñas regarding the Mamasapano incident.
Families ask President Rodrigo Duterte to help them and that the people who neglected their duty must hold accountable.
They, however, deny the allegation that they are asking benefits in exchange of not filing the case.
“That is not true that we are after money. We need justice,” said Felecitas Nacino in vernacular.
Napeñas earlier stated that he is ready to face the complaint.
Aquino, on the other hand, says that the cases filed are just another form of harassment against him.
