DAVAO CITY — President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered Cebu businessman Peter Lim to submit himself to investigation following reports alleging him as among the top drug lords in the country.
During their meeting last night at the office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Davao City, President Duterte interrogated Lim and asked if he is the one being identified as the Visayan member of the drug triad.
Pres. Duterte told Lim to prove his innocence and counter allegations that he is not the drug lord Peter Lim a.k.a. Jaguar listed in the drug triad matrix. If he does not do so, then his life would be at risk.
“I am warning you. I have warned to kill you. I will indeed order your killing if something is proven against you,” forewarned the president in his native language. “We want to help you. Help us clear you.”
Lim assured to face the investigation to clear his name because the issue has affected his family and business in Cebu.
“I could clear up everything because my family is really in deep problem now in Cebu. In any way, I will help. In all the ways I can,” said Lim.
Meanwhile, PDEA believes that Lim’s appearance will help in the government’s campaign against crime and illegal drugs.
“Giving up himself is a very good indication for the campaign of our president and the government against the various drug groups.”
PDEA also revealed that a big drug group is planning to surrender to the government soon. (UNTV News)
