QUEZON CITY — Another police encounter with robbery-carnap syndicates occurred at 2 a.m. on Monday along San Mateo Road, Batasan Hills, Quezon City.
Three of the four suspects, who victimized a taxi driver, were gunned downed at an encounter with members of Quezon City Police District.
According to the victim, Danilo Pagulayan, the suspects boarded his taxi at Philcoa and declared a holdup as they were traversing Commonwealth Avenue.
The suspects quickly took Pagulayan’s cellphone and cash worth 2,300 pesos. Aside from that, they also tied his arms, stripped him naked and dropped him on the road as they fled with the victim’s taxi.
Coincidentally, personnel of QCPD-DSOU were patrolling near the area and saw the distressed taxi driver.
Hot pursuit operation was immediately launched together with the mobile units of QCPD Station 6.
The suspects were cornered at San Mateo Road where shootout neutralized 3 of the 4 suspects.
There were no injuries on the side of the law enforcers but 1 suspect managed to escape toward the grassy area nearby.
Recovered from the dead bodies are the victim’s belongings, a sachet of suspected shabu, high caliber firearms and ammunitions.
The identities of the suspects and their possible connection to a bigger syndicate are under investigation.
