QUEZON CITY, Philippines – The Department of Transportation (DOTr) opened on Wednesday, June 6, a one-stop-shop for applicants of the government’s public utility vehicle (PUV) modernization program.

The one-stop-shop is located on the 16th Floor of Columbia Tower in Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City, near the building of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) along EDSA.

The facility houses government agencies concerning the PUV modernization for faster and efficient processing of franchise and new route applications among others.

Applicants may also ask from agency representatives if they wish to apply for a loan to upgrade their old units or buy a new one.

“Iyong mga gustong maging legal na colorum, tutulong kami as long as mag-comply sila sa omnibus franchise guidelines na inilabas namin last year,” said Undersecretary Tim Orbos.

(We will help those who want to legalize their “colorum” units, as long as they comply with the  omnibus franchise guidelines that we released last year.)

DOTr’s one-stop-shop is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 p.m. on these dates – June 6, 14, 22, 29 and July 6, 13, 20, 27. – Mon Jocson / Marje Pelayo
