QUEZON CITY, Philippines – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) started its audit procedures on local officials for underperformance in line with the administration’s anti-illegal drugs and anti-criminality campaign.
DILG Secretary Eduardo Año said they will scrutinize how the local governments – from the governor down to the head of the barangays – disbursed their respective intelligence funds.
The agency is now collecting complaints from constituents against the local officials who are accused of not performing their duties in connection with the government’s war on drugs and criminality. – UNTV News & Rescue
