MANILA, Philippines – The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Thursday (December 20) suspended the implementation of the Number Coding Scheme for provincial buses from December 21 to January 2, 2019.
This is to serve the volume of passengers bound for the provinces this holiday season.
Meanwhile, number coding for private vehicles will also be lifted from December 24 to January 2, 2019.
MMDA expects traffic situation in EDSA will return to normal after the first week of January.
On January 7, the MMDA will start charging higher penalties to illegally parked vehicles. – Marje Pelayo (with reports from Joan Nano)
