MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine’s employment rate went up by 2% this year based on the October 2018 Labor Force Survey of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
From the previous 40 million, employed Filipinos now reached 41 million.
Based on the same report, meanwhile, the country’s unemployment rate dwindled down by 5.3%.
Also stated in the report is the higher quality of employment because workers with good quality work and proper salary are now 26 million.
This is 2.7% higher as compared to last year’s.
Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said jobs are increasing due to the rise of opportunity in different sectors.
One example is the Build, Build, Build program of the administration.
— UNTV News & Rescue
